RETREAT: Ethnobotany with Mycol Stevens
Mycol Stevens has taught at the Hostel numerous times and is happy to be returning to this inspiring paradigm. Having studied environmental and ecological engineering back in the 1990s at UF, he was highly inspired by the humanure compost systems of all things at the Hostel! Mycol has an off-grid permaculture homestead in N Fl since 2002, that emphasizes ecological restoration, organic food forests, and education (founded and hosted the first 3 years of the FL Earthskills Gatherings). He has worked as a restoration ecologist/botanist for the FWC across the state of FL for a 7 year period and volunteers his summers in the Appalachia mountains. Mycol also has travelled much of the Americas always seeking nature (and culture and music).
