Hostel Attends Bioneers SE Conference

Posted October 31st, 2006

The Hostel in the Forest was delighted to have been invited to make a presentation at the Bioneers South Eastern Conference during the weekend of October 20th—22nd 2006, in Atlanta Georgia. Nikki, Jeremy, Mikey and Poppy attended, Tom and Murray presented in the New Rituals for Changed Minds: Re-Connecting with the Rhythms of Place and Community forum. Tom covered the History of the Hostel from its inception in 1975 and Murray described the evolution of the Hostel community, its current activities and future plans. The forum was moderated by Sage from Alternate Roots and presentations were made by Julie Shaffer of the Slow Foods Movement, Megan Ruth Baxter of Clarity Springs, Joshua Lockyer of the University of Georgia and Tom Blue Wolf of Earthkeepers.

The Hostel was delighted to have been involved with this remarkable conference. It was a great networking opportunity and we look forward to the prospect of future Hostel workshops and events from some of the wonderful people that we met there.

Also, many thanks to Scott for the use of some of his wonderful photographs of the Hostel that we used in our presentation.
